My wedding day with Fabian seemed perfect, until I realized that my mother, Adele, was missing.
My heart was pounding as I looked around nervously, my father holding my arm, ready to lead me to the altar.
The doors to the church opened, and I saw Fabian, his eyes shining with love. But as we approached the altar, a strange feeling came over me.
“Dad,” I whispered worriedly, “where’s mommy?” He looked around confused. “I thought she was here.” Suddenly the music stopped, and all eyes were on me.
“We can’t start. My mother is missing.”
Fabian ran towards me, worried. “Bella, what’s going on?” “We have to find her,” I stammered, as my brothers jumped through the crowd looking for her.
Fabian squeezed my hand, trying to calm me down, but the minutes seemed endless.
Finally, when I was about to call the police, the church doors burst open. My mother walked in, her hair disheveled and her elegant gold dress rumpled.
Anger shone in her eyes as she pointed at someone in the front row. “YOU!”

I followed her gaze and was shocked to see Grace, Fabian’s mother.
“Mom, what happened?” I asked, confused. Adele looked at me with burning eyes. “Grace locked me in a closet! Just because I was wearing this dress!”
The church was filled with whispers and shouts of disbelief. Grace stood up, pale and indignant. “This is crazy! I would never do something like this!”
“I heard you! You said no one else could wear gold because you were supposed to be the star!” Adele shouted. Fabian stepped forward, his face serious and determined.
“Mom, is that true?” Grace hesitated, her hands shaking. “I thought she was going to steal my thunder.”
Fabian’s face hardened. “This is Bella’s wedding, not yours. Now go away.” With one last angry look, Grace grabbed her bag and walked out of the church, slamming the door.
A tense silence followed, until my father spoke up. “Let’s get back to celebrating him and this beautiful couple!” Slowly the conversations resumed and the ceremony continued.
Fabian turned to me, filled with remorse. “Bella, I’m sorry. I never thought my mother would do something like this.”
I squeezed his hand. “It’s not your fault. Focus on what’s important: the two of us.” And so we said our vows, surrounded by love and joy.
When the priest pronounced us husband and wife, the church erupted in applause. Hand in hand, we walked down the aisle, and I whispered to Fabian, “This didn’t go exactly as I imagined.” He laughed softly.
“It certainly didn’t, but it will be an unforgettable event.”
The party was lively, full of laughter and dancing. The previous chaos seemed to have vanished, as we celebrated with our loved ones. Finally, I found my mother outside, calmly sitting under the stars. I sat down next to her.
“I’m sorry about what happened, Mom.”
She smiled softly. “Everything’s okay, Bella. The important thing is that you and Fabian are happy. That’s always been my wish for you.”
Tears welled up in my eyes as I hugged her tightly. “I love you, Mom.” “I love you, too, baby,” she whispered.
As the night wore on, surrounded by family and friends, I realized that despite all the hardships, that day had been perfect.
I had married the man I loved, and we were surrounded by the people who meant the most to us.
Whateverъ I knew we would face them together.
